Baked Apple Slices
In keeping with the simple recipe theme, I put together this recipe for a delicious and quick dessert. It's basically like a deconstructed apple cobbler - but don't tell my husband that. He hates the whole "deconstructed meal" concept you see at fancy restaurants. You can put this over ice cream, yogurt, or just eat it by itself!
Ingredients:
6 granny smith apples, sliced into wedges
2 tbspn unsalted butter, melted
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbspn brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange sliced apples on a silpat (or tinfoil sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray). Mix together the rest of the ingredients and spread it evenly over the apples. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until the apples are soft and the sugar has caramelized.
